MAKE-A-WISH Utah. Thank you. →
From GoRogan.com
Endless thanks to the Utah Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation for sending our family to Maui to honor Rogan’s wish. With all that we have going on.. and with the continued costs of Rogan’s cancer treatment… this trip was definitely NOT in the budget. We are forever grateful… and it will exactly what our family needs. The Foundation will handle the...

Ride For Rogan Party
Thank you to everybody who came out last night for our party! We had a lot of people show up and I think that everybody had a great time. Special thanks to Parker Jones at Capital Bike for helping to organize the party, slideshow, and generously donating some gift baskets. We would also like to thank Hook and Ladder Brewing Company and Bay Ridge Wine & Spirits for donating supplies for the...
Coming Home
Coming into Annapolis was a great feeling. It was odd knowing the exact turns and not having to check the map anymore. We rode through Davidsonville and Riva and then stopped off at Capitol Bikes. Parker Jones greeted us with a 6-pack of Blue Moon and we shared a few stories before jumping back onto the bike and going down Forest Drive in the dark.
Getting into and out of D.C. is a nightmare on bikes. We tried to find a route but decided that the safest thing would be to take public transportation and avoid the busy highways. The Amtrak in Fredericksburg doesn’t allow bikes however we were able to convince the conductor to let us bring them on. We took it all the way to Union Station in D.C. and rode our bikes out of there to the...
The Cookie Lady
At the base of a steep hill in Afton, VA lives June Curry, aka The Cookie Lady. She has been making cookies and housing cyclists for 30 years now and she is a legend on the road. She maintains a Bike House which is filled with memorabilia, post cards, and other things that cyclists have left there over the year. It is the unofficial museum of the Trans-Am and we were lucky to spend an hour there....
Blue Ridge Parkway... the last hill
We left Vesuvius and climbed up our last major climb to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The weather was perfect - in the sixties and blue skies - and the views from the ridge line were spectacular. The parkway is a great road and a scenic way to get above the mountains and trees to appreciate the splendid beauty of the Appalachians. We cruised for 25 miles before dropping down and heading northeast on a...
Day 75: Vesuvius, VA
Damn fine day today. The weather has been excellent and every uphill has been met with an incredible downhill (which isnt always the case). We ‘broke into’ a private park in Buchanan that had been closed for the winter and got a good nights sleep thanks to the overhead pavillion which protected us from the drizzling rain last night. We had a big breakfast in town and wound up delaying...
Blacksburg, VA
Talking with our new friend and host last night, Don, in Blacksburg VA has been a blast. We had killer Mexican food last night and even got to hit up a bike shop for some repairs Danny needed - not bad for rolling into town well after dark! Talking to Don about his cross country bike charity, biketheUSforMS.org, has been really interesting and a little bit inspiring to see the immense number of...
Do you give discounts to loiterers?
– Jerry, after we have spent 40 minutes in a rest stop playing games and eating sliders.
Mail Drop
We will be entering Virginia tomorrow. You can send mail drops to Christianburg and we will be there on the 11th. This will probably be our last mail drop, until we figure out the route between there and Maryland.

The Judge
We rode along highway 80 today, a crowded double lane highway, and I heard some gun shots. A husband and wife were shooting pumkins just 40 feet off the road at a dirt side road.
I went over (having never shot a gun before) and asked if I could shoot one. The husband thought for a second then said “well you might as well shoot the big one first” and he handed me a .45 caliber handgun...
