RIDE FOR ROGAN!

Talking with our new friend and host last night, Don, in Blacksburg VA has been a blast. We had killer Mexican food last night and even got to hit up a bike shop for some repairs Danny needed - not bad for rolling into town well after dark! Talking to Don about his cross country bike charity, biketheUSforMS.org, has been really interesting and a little bit inspiring to see the immense number of people doing amazing things for the world. It’s made me realize that for whatever reason; lack of Internet or keyboard, a dismissal to nag our friends or readers, or just plain forgetfulness that we haven’t been hitting home to everyone reading this that this is first and foremost a charity ride. The trip has been a blast through and through but everytime we talk to someone about it, it’s obvious within the first few minutes of our conversation that the intention of this ride is to raise money for our friends daughters cancer treatment. So, as a friendly reminder we ask that you consider donating what you can to this worthwhile cause. The Crawfords have done so much for us over the years; this ride and your support are gestures of love toward them and sympathy to their situation. We’re a week from home and it feels like we left San Francisco just a week ago. Thank you everyone for your words of support - it’s been an amazing ride and we hope you’ve enjoyed following it!

Corey Crawford, a 20 year resident of Bay Ridge, and his wife Casey had their first daughter, Rogan Tomey Crawford in January, 2007. 

Shortly after, she was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia, a form of blood cancer that is most commonly seen in infants. It's been over a year since she began treatment and she has improved immensely in that time. 

In an effort to raise awareness of the benefit fund set up in Rogan's name and to show support from the neighborhood that the Crawford's impacted so much, Danny, Jerry and Joe Ricciotti have elected to ride bicycles cross country for Rogan's cause. We will be updating this website with photos from our trip as often as possible so please check in from time to time and keep Rogan in your thoughts as we will in ours.
