The Cookie Lady

At the base of a steep hill in Afton, VA lives June Curry, aka The Cookie Lady. She has been making cookies and housing cyclists for 30 years now and she is a legend on the road. She maintains a Bike House which is filled with memorabilia, post cards, and other things that cyclists have left there over the year. It is the unofficial museum of the Trans-Am and we were lucky to spend an hour there. June is getting older and her health is declining but she was still able to sit down with us on the back porch and tell some stories. Hopefully this bit of cycling history will continue to be maintained for years to come!

Corey Crawford, a 20 year resident of Bay Ridge, and his wife Casey had their first daughter, Rogan Tomey Crawford in January, 2007. 

Shortly after, she was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia, a form of blood cancer that is most commonly seen in infants. It's been over a year since she began treatment and she has improved immensely in that time. 

In an effort to raise awareness of the benefit fund set up in Rogan's name and to show support from the neighborhood that the Crawford's impacted so much, Danny, Jerry and Joe Ricciotti have elected to ride bicycles cross country for Rogan's cause. We will be updating this website with photos from our trip as often as possible so please check in from time to time and keep Rogan in your thoughts as we will in ours.
